For the past 3 years, I've complained. Around this time, without fail, I ended up going to Austin for work, and I'd miss South by Southwest by a week or two.
Well, apparently someone heard my grumbling, because I'm going to be in Austin right in the middle of it this year. And now, all of a sudden, I'm not so sure that it's the best time to be there. The fact that I couldn't find a hotel room to save my life was just one indication. But, I don't really have a choice in the matter. It's for work, so off I go. Really, I don't think it will be that bad. But the thought of trying to go to a crowded event by myself is...well, for me, it's a tad overwhelming to just THINK about.
So! If any of you Austin folks are going to a SXSW event thing and want to bring a quiet Californian with you, let me know. I'll be in the lone star state March 13th-17th.
Also, I am looking for flip flop recommendations. Something simple, something black, something COMFORTABLE, and something that will give me a little lift (like an inch or two). Actually, something like these Ocean Minded flip-flops, but not leather. They're a lot harder to find than you'd think.
Oh! I also got my swanky new spectacles. I like them lots.
