Archive (week of 11.18.01):
It just wouldn't be the holidays without me catching some sort of virus. And so far this year has been no exception.
I'm sure you're dying to know when else I've been sick during a holiday. I'm going to tell you anyways.
Let's go back to 4th grade. I think it must have been around Thanksgiving. I somehow manage to get the Asian flu. A week of cartoons and jigsaw puzzles. And fast forward to Christmas break, junior year of high school. What starts out as an ear infection morphs itself into bronchial pneumonia. Fun! It started right around christmas day and held on stong through the new year. Around this time last year, I spent the wee hours of a Sunday morning praying to the porcelain god. I'm not even sure how or why I was puking my guts out, but it did prevent me from eating too much on Thanksgiving, which was probably a good thing. Also last year, right after christams, the morning B and I were driving to Mendocino for a mini vacation, I woke up with the beginning of a cold. The rental car was littered with Ricola wrappers. And this morning, I woke up with what felt like the beginning of a cold, and sure enough, it is! Yay.
I know there's a pattern to this. I get time off, whether it be from work or shcool, my body lets down its virus guard and BAM! something takes over. I catch some sort of sniffly nose, sore throat virus. I actually don't mind. I don't get sick that much. It's a slight inconvenience. I'm more worried about handing the virus off to Thanksgiving guests. Hopefully by Thursday I won't be contagious.
I had something to say here, nothing relevant to anything important, but something to say none the less - and now I've totally forgotten what it was.
I'm going to San Francisco on Tuesday to help my Mum start the Thanksgiving preparations. Updates will be more sporadic than they have been (meaning there's a possibility there won't be any at all). Hopefully I'll return with a few pictures.
