Sometimes a list of good things is exactly what you need:
- the kodak duralfex camera that was delivered yesterday (via ebay). Now I have a project to work on
- the new flannel snowflake sheets that go really well with the rest of our bedding
- a morning bike ride during the week
- all the birds and other critters hanging out on the bike trail
- the way the clouds diffuse the sun just enough for everything to look lovely
- red shoes
- lunch with My Favorite Cousin
- dinner with K! and L! at the pub
- friends who leave surprise baked goods on your doorstep
Thanks to everyone who has emailed or commented regarding my "separation from an employed state". I appreciate it more than you'll ever know.

Oh no! Condolences on the job loss. At dinner tonight I was telling a friend about a story I recently read where a woman was devastated about being laid off, started making hats, which ended up selling like crazy, and got a huge contract with a fancy department store. And thus she is rich and self-employed. Hope this is a blessing in disguise for ya!
