I've been doing so well with the NaBloPoMo thing. So far, I think there was only one day where I "phoned it in".

I've been worrying about Thanksgiving though. There may be a day or two where I won't have access to a computer at all which will totally affect my spotless posting record. But now, I'm just worried. After Wednesday's little surprise, I've kind of lost my enthusiasm for the whole thing.

I think I'm going to take a break this weekend from job related things. No resume revisions and no working on my portfolio. I haven't really given myself a chance to decompress and do nothing. Once I do that, I think I might have a better outlook on, well, everything.

And with that I ask you, does just posting a photo count as a post? Because I think I could totally swing that over the weekend.

Thank you all. Sometimes I don't know what I'd do without you. It's like I've got my own little support group! Y'all are the best.

but of course! sounds sufficient to me.

hope you are doing well and taking it easy.

Posting a photo totally counts. Take a break, decompress, don't think about employment. Doctor's orders.

Of course it counts!! Posting is posting is posting. :) We're on the home stretch of NaBloPoMo!

I totally phoned it in today. If my two line post counts, then I say a picture counts as well.

I read through a LOT of NaBloPoMo tonight, and you were one of my favorite finds!

I'm a wee bit OCD about this NaBloPoMoing, and i FREAKED OUT on Friday morning when i realized that the only thing i posted on Thursday was a trio of songs i had just recorded; i didn't make a "real" post for the day.

Then i realized how ridiculous i was being. Not only did i blog, but i blogged something artistic and unique. It totally stood up against the hundreds of words written by other NaBloPoMoers that day.

By the same token, your pictures are worth at least a thousand words, each. They totally count.

I say photos definitely count. If you feel too self-conscious about it, include a caption. :)

Just remember to breathe. Life takes unexpected turns, and sometimes we need to take time out in order to catch up with ourselves.

Here is a visualization that calms me in these situations, from the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying... I will try my best to remember how it goes (I don't have the book with me so I can't copy it)...

Pick up a coin, and examine it. Place it in your palm, then close your fist tightly around it. Turn your hand so that your fist and inside of your arm are facing down. When you open your hand, the coin will fall.

Pick up the coin again, but this time hold it in your palm with an open hand. The coin will not fall.

Whenever I'm facing a change that I'm having a hard time dealing with, or an argument, or frustration, or any number of things in life... I imagine the coin. Everything in life changes, and we have to learn to hold them in the palm of our hands, rather than cling to them too tightly... to let them come in and out of our existence rather than clenching them in our fists. If we hold on to something too tightly, the more suffering we will cause ourselves when it's gone. Understand that everything is impermanent, and hold it steadily in your open palm.

It makes much more sense in regards to reading a whole chapter on impermanence in the book, but visualizing the coin really helps me in difficult times.

I say yes, mostly because I plan on doing that over the next week.

If it shows up on the site and has a date stamp, it counts.

And hell, pictures being worth 1000 words a pop, I'd say some photoblogging would technically be quite conversational. :)

Photos count. Photo it in.

If you post a picture...it's posting...I think that isn't cheating...it is after all posting. Besides, I love your pictures.

Just a photo with absolutely no title and no explanation??

It seems a little thin... but a photo and a title.. that works just fine.
