The Sandal Search, Part Deux

Art Cars: The Pen Car

Thanks to everyone who has left comments and links regrading sandals. I'm sure I am not the only one who appreciates it.

On the sandal front, I received a giant box o' shoes yesterday from Zappos. Contained inside were two pairs of perfectly acceptable Earth sandals. They're both black, one a bit casual, and one more work appropriate. I am, unfortunately, sending them both back. The nicer pair is just too narrow for my giant hobbit feet. The casual pair just wasn't that comfy, and were already bothering my toes after a few steps around the apartment.

Was I disappointed? Most definitely. I attempted to search a bit online this morning to find something else. (MUST HAVE SANDALS!) It occurred to me that the Dr. Marten's I bought last month have been working out so well, I should find another pair in a different style. Eventually, I dug up these. I don't know that they're exactly what I'm looking for, but I'm willing to at least give them a try.

Finally, I could devote my internet time to something more useful.

But no! Later this evening, I unexpectedly found myself at Macy's gazing upon the sale racks in the shoe section. Regan and I were actually on a search for something clothing related, but why not at least walk through the shoe section? I probably don't have to tell you that I found a lovely pair of Aerosoles sandals while we were there. After waiting an eternity for the shoe guy to go in the back to find the mate to my lovely (40% off) sandal, he came up empty handed. He couldn't find the match, but he had the match for the size up (which was of course too big). Apparently this is someone's way of telling me I'm not meant to have sandals. Feeling only slightly defeated, I decided I would check online once I got to a computer with internet access.

As usual, the internet did not disappoint. And in the process of searching for the Macy's sandal, I found a similar style on sale at onlineshoes.com. I ordered both, natch. I'll probably return one, but at least I have options. I like options.

I will, of course, let you know how it goes. Maybe I'll even take pictures.
