How Much is That Bokeh in the Window...

Sunday night, we were out with the boy-fiance's friend to grab some dinner and then a short shopping trip to Trader Joe's. We all went our separate ways once we got in the store, and the boy and I managed to check-out at about the same time. We went to the car, loaded groceries in the trunk, and he slammed it shut. All of a sudden he says, "Oh no! I locked the keys in the trunk!" My eyes started to get wide but before the panic could set in, he says "I'm just kidding!" I told him he shouldn't kid about stuff like that, and we joked about all the ways it would be horrible if he actually had locked the keys in the trunk.

Shortly after, our friend meets us at the car, we all pile in, and the boy goes to start the car...and nothing happens. No lights, not even a little noise from the engine, NOTHING. The car was totally dead. And all I could think was, "KARMA!"

It turned out the battery connections were pretty corroded. The boys did manage to get things cleaned up a little bit, but not enough to start the car. AAA came to the rescue and we managed to make it home without incident. It's taken two days, one new battery, and one new ratchet set and the boy-fiance is finally back on the road.

And now I get to remind him of this little adventure every time he jokes about locking his keys in the car! It's a win-win, don't you think?
