You know what will get you out of bed fast on a Sunday morning? The sound of your significant other saying, "OH SH*T" followed by "Have you seen two cats out here?"
That's right. The cats escaped this morning. The front door was left ajar and the kitties went on a little adventure. Thankfully they didn't get far. Miles was so freaked out that when he saw me he instantly started crawling towards me through the bushes with a look on his face that seemed to say, "THANK GOD, please get me out of here!" The kitten, on the other hand, was blissfully unaware that anything dramatic was going on. Luckily, with a little coaxing I managed to get him back in the house without too much trouble. After finding the boy-fiance (he was searching the outer perimeter), we went back to the apartment and when we opened the door, the kitten BOLTED back outside.
Insert heavy sigh here.
Having already captured him once this morning, I was able to quickly get him back inside, but JEEBUS! Miles has never showed a lot of interest in going outside, so I think I know who might have instigated this little outdoor adventure.
We're now making sure the door is never open for more than a few seconds. So far, neither cat has tried to make a run for it. Though I think it may be time to order the kitten a name tag. Just in case.
